Sudan: Oil Ministry Signs Agreement With Russian (GTL) Company

Khartoum — The Ministry of Oil and Gas and the Russian GTL company have signed Sunday an agreement for the exploitation of the gas produced from Niemes field in square (4) and convert it to liquid fuel.

The representative of SudaPet Company, engineer Nour-EddinSaad-Eddin has signed on behalf of the ministry, whiles the director of the Russian company, has signed for the Russian party.

The agreement includes the establishment of a gas liquefaction plant for the processing of 10 million cubic feet of the associated gas per day and turns it into petroleum products such as gasoline and benzene at a rate estimated to 100 million tons of fuel annually.

The project of which the Sudapet Company owns 51% while the Russian company owns 49% is expected to be implemented within 18 months.

The Minister of Oil and Gas Dr. Mohamed ZayedAwad has addressed the signing ceremony describing the project as economically rewarding, noting that the project provides 10 million dollar per month and will support the ministry's policy aimed at enhancing the oil's economics, pointing that the cost of the project is estimated at 70 million dollar and is considered one of the projects of priority to increase oil production.

On his part, the head of the Russian company indicated that the project is rewarding, stressing the highest standards of quality of the petroleum products, pledging the continuous improvement and the introduction of modern technologies besides the training of the national cadres, meanwhile he reviewed the company's expertise in this field.

Soudan: le russe GTL s’engage pour un important projetpétro-gazier sur le champ Niemes

(AgenceEcofin) — La compagnierusse GTL, un major du secteurpétrolier, a conclu avec le Soudan un accord portant exploitation du gazdans le champ Niemes et sa conversion en combustible liquide, a rapporté Sudan news agency (Sunna).

L’accord a étésigné le 4 octobre à Khartoum et inclut, apprend-on, la construction d’uneusine de liquéfaction pour le traitement de 10 millionspieds-cubes de gazassocié par jour dansceprojet, d’un coûtestimé à 70 millions de dollars, qui devraêtre au point au bout de 18 mois.

Le major russe de la conversion du gazen combustible liquidedevra, dans le cadre de cet accord, transformer la production de gazenproduitspétroliers, dontl’essence et le benzène, au rythme de 100 millions de tonnes de combustibles par an.

La compagniecrééeen 2000 à Moscou par le banquierKadyrovRafisFaizovichdétientune participation de 49% dans le projet, contre 51% pour la compagniesoudanaise Sudapet Company.
